The Great Dickens Christmas Fair and Victorian Holiday Party

A one-of-a-kind immersive adventure into Victorian London ~ an elaborate holiday party with hundreds of costumed players performing and interacting with patrons in over four acres of theatrically-lit music halls, pubs, dance floors, a skating rink, Christmas Tree lot and over a hundred festive shops. It's a twilight evening in Charles Dickens' London Town ~ a city of winding lanes filled with colorful characters from both literature and history. The Dickens Christmas Fair is a treasured Bay Area tradition since 1970 and a splendid way to celebrate the holidays. Now through October 15 save up to $15.00 per ticket.

Over four acres of lamplit shops, boisterous pubs, lively music halls, and proper tea houses await you and yours at the largest, most delightfully elaborate, Victorian Holiday Party in the country! A sneak peek at what awaits...
• Begin and end ~ or come again ~ to stroll through Vauxhall Gardens, a new holiday experience open to the public free of charge (Cow Palace parking $15) Don a pair of rental skates for a glide about the skating rink, then savour a hot chocolate or spiced cider before purchasing a Christmas Tree to take home to your parlour!
• Once inside, make your way to the Victoria and Albert Theatre for an all-new traditional Christmas pantomime The Tale of Puss in Boots, or down to Mad Sal's Dockside Ale House to join in the singing of rowdy favorites, and watch high-kicking dancers take to the stage for the wicked Cancan Bijou.
• Connoisseurs ~ or the curious ~ can try a flight of exotic Absinthe or a pairing of fine Ports and chocolate before tucking in to a savory selection of English Bangers and Mash, Fish and Chips, Scotch Eggs, Sausage Rolls and exotic Indian Curries, or even a sit-down proper English High Tea service.
• Bid farewell to the frenetic shopping malls of the 21st century and revel instead in a wonderland of one-of-a-kind artisan treasures: Victorian portrait silhouettes, Christmas florals, glassware, fine art, romantic clothing, handsome drinkware, unusual ceramics, dazzling jewelry and accessories, even an overstocked antiquarian bookseller ~ nearly 100 costumed vendors line our lamplit lanes.
