Ukrainian Pysanka (Easter Egg) Festival

The Pysanka Festival returns to the Ukrainian Culture Center on Melrose in Hollywood on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from noon-5pm. What are pysanka?
Pysanka in the singular and pysanky as plural-is derived from the Ukrainian verb pysaty, which means "to write." So in this case, the word refers to the writing with wax on the eggs. While most are familiar with dying Easter eggs with solid colors, Ukrainian Easter eggs often feature complex geometric and floral designs.
