The 2024 Mendocino Music Festival opens Saturday, July 13, for two weeks filled with an astonishing variety of concerts through July 27 in the scenic and historic coastal town of Mendocino, California. Country and Americana sensation Miko Marks opens the Festival, which features 25 concerts showcasing its signature blend of musical styles including classical, Americana, chamber music jazz, big band, folk, pop, country, opera, a special chamber music series focusing on the music of Gabriel Fauré, Celtic, bluegrass, piano, vocalists and more. This year’s artists and ensembles include Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Festival Orchestra, Chorus and Big Band; vocalists Miko Marks, Kim Nalley, Gwyneth Moreland, Kindra Scharich, Maiya Sykes and Stephanie Anne Johnson; pianists Susan Waterfall, Julian Pollack, Keisuke Nakagoshi, Rachel Breen, Jeffrey Ladeur, Robert Schwartz, Ralph Van Raat and Heather Pinkham, Carolyn Steinbuck and Daniel Lockert; cellist Evan Kahn, Jigjam, Mr Sun, Calder String Quartet, Rose’s Pawn Shop, Damn Tall Buildings, Emerging Artists Chamber Music and Mozart’s comic Cosi fan tutte.
