Organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, the exhibition examines Lopez's profound influence as an artist who radically reimagined representations of women in Chicano/a/x culture and society at large. SJMA is the sole Bay Area venue for Yolanda Lopez: Portrait of an Artist, which features a compendium of fifty works by Lopez in a breadth of mediums as well as a new space that highlights the formative role the Bay Area played in Lopez's artistic output and activism.
Adults: $15 Seniors: $12. Free to SJMA members, students, youth 17 and under, and school teachers (with valid ID) and from 6–9pm on the first Friday of every month.
