Come be captivated by lost tales of holidays past and local Colorado Legends by LuneAseas brand of story telling interweaving original music, shadow puppetry, illusionary movement, and costumery.

You'll be transported into captivating scenes of the Golden Age of 5 Points, Denver. Coined "the Harlem as the West", listen as the Tenia Nelson Band, accompanied by the Boulder Philharmonic, tickles your ear to the timeless 1960 jazz arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, while learning about legendary cornerstones of Colorado's African American history . Be spellbound as award winning musicians and dancers bring to life these historic characters and places.

About the 5 Points Nutcracker:
Set in the Golden Age of Jazz, this show weaves Colorado's African American heritage into the classic ballet, reflecting beloved scene to historical figures that are cornerstones in the 5 Points Community.

The 5 Points Nutcracker: A Jazz Experience, directed by Denver's own Larea Edwards and brings to life the cultural legacy of this historic neighborhood through a blend of dance, music, and storytelling. The stunning live musical direction of Tenia Nelson with support from the Boulder Philharmonic gives a multi-faceted performance dimension to this beloved holiday classic.

The main performance will feature dazzling visuals, dynamic props, and an interactive experience supported by sponsors including the Boulder Philharmonic, Denver Arts and Venues, the Eulipions Fund, City of Fort Collins, Bohemian Foundation, Bowen Foundation, RiNo Art District, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, and Colorado Creative Industries.
