With its roots as one of the first summer classical musical festivals in North America, the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival celebrates the work and legacy of Connecticut's own Charles Ives this summer. This program specifically focuses on composers with a side hustle, including Ives, an insurance executive whose work laid the groundwork for the field of estate planning. Also on this program is Borodin, a noted chemist who made some important discoveries in organic chemistry, and Philip Glass, who made ends meet in the 1970s as a taxi driver.
