GOODWILL OFFERS JUMPSTART ON BACK-TO-SCHOOL DEALS FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA STUDENTS, SCHOOL PERSONNEL

“Teachable Moments” Week Begins July 21

WHAT:

Back-to-School shopping can cost parents as much as $586 a student, and that’s why Goodwill Industries of Central Florida (GICF) wants to help them save – even before the state sales tax holiday begins.

Starting Sunday, July 21, students and educators will get a 10% discount on purchases, if they show a valid school ID at checkout. The special “Teachable Moments” deal runs until Sunday, July 28, and cannot be combined with other offers, such as “color of the week” or military and senior discounts.

GICF also encourages anyone sorting through last year’s school clothes and supplies to donate gently used items for another family to purchase. Every donation dropped off at Goodwill has value, and the organization diverts more than 20 million pounds of household goods out of local landfills every year.

More than 90% of the revenue generated through Goodwill’s retail stores across Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Volusia, Seminole and Lake counties is reinvested into the organization’s community initiatives, including employment opportunities for Central Floridians.
