The Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches sings Handel's Messiah at the Royal Poinciana Chapel to usher in the holiday season. This masterpiece Oratorio was written in 1741 and performed in Dublin in 1742. It paints the story of the first Christmas adhering to ancient Biblical text. The narrative is exciting, and the music makes it so memorable. A chamber orchestra will accompany the 60-voice chorus with solos by professional vocal artists that offer rich luxurious tones and notes that reach high into the stratosphere. The setting is the historic Poinciana Chapel decorated with evergreen wreaths and candlelight making an elegant ambiance. When King George heard the work in London in 1743, he stood for the Hallelujah chorus and the entire audience stood with him. That is a grand gesture that is observed all over the world today every time this great piece is sung. Start your holiday season with an unforgettable evening of great music. Look at our sponsorship program for an extra special elegant reception invitation to Flagler's Sea Gull cottage after the performance.
