PRP IN REGENERATIVE DENTISTRY

Regenerating dentistry is an emerging branch of medicine that incorporates stem cell technology, tissue engineering, and dental science. It employs biological mechanisms to rejuvenate and restore the functioning of damaged oral tissues. Dentistry can lead the regenerative field as it has significant advantages over the principle for the use of PRP because it functions as a biomaterial, delivering cytokines and essential growth factors from platelet granules to the targeted area, facilitating tissue regeneration. Biomedical researchers have started to use PRP treatment as a new way to repair damaged tissue based on a better understanding of cell signaling and growth factor biology.

Speaker: Dr. Pavushetty Prashanth, BDS Dr. Prashanth is a dentist with a postgraduate degree in stem cells and regenerative medicine from Manipal. He worked on mesenchymal stem cells for wound healing and PRP for Periodontal Defects and Chronic Diabetic wounds. He is also a Fellow in Medical Cosmetics and Laser Dentistry.

Moderator: Dr. Lipi Singh, PhD Dr. Lipi Singh, Vice president for Advancells Group, India, is a fast-emerging global organization that provides high-standard biological resources for scientific and therapeutic purposes. Dr. Lipi has over 15 years of experience in the field of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine. She was awarded with prestigious postdoctoral fellowship “California Institute of Regenerative Medicine, USA” for pancreatic stem cells for replacement therapy of Type I Diabetes. She got her Ph.D. in extensive research work in Pancreatology from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India.
