Stone Mountain Chorus - Back to Barbershop!

Let Stone Mountain Chorus take you “Back to Barbershop” as the Chorus and its Barbershop Quartets explore this venerable art form, deeply rooted in the history of American music.  Take a journey with us as we explore the varied sounds and repertoire of barbershop harmony from its early days to the Next Generation of barbershop singing.

In fact, our special guest quartet “Full Effect” won the 2023 Next Generation Barbershop Quartet Championship at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Contest.  They are the 2023 Southeastern Harmony District Champion Quartet, and finished in 6^th place at the 2024 International Quartet Championship!

From early Barbershop classics to well-known show tunes (think “The Music Man”) and maybe a couple of Disney tunes, you’ll hear great songs in pure four-part harmony and learn something about the craft of barbershop singing.  For this performance, we’re putting on two shows at the historic Red Clay Theatre in Downtown Duluth, GA.  The 260-seat “Listening Room” is perfectly suited to an acoustic performance.
