Save the date! The Chicago Scots, the oldest non-profit organization in Illinois celebrating its 175th anniversary throughout this year, is thrilled to announce their 20th Annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The tournament, which was hosted virtually last year, has returned to the Cantigny Golf Course in Wheaton, 27W270 Mack Rd. The Kilted Classic golf tournament will feature Scottish fun during and after rounds of golf including entertainment from bagpipers and Highland dancers, as well as Scottish beer and whisky tastings, and a multitude of Scottish-themed competitions. All proceeds from the outing will benefit Caledonia Senior Living and Memory Care, the Chicago Scots’ primary beneficiary for over one hundred years that offers a range of outstanding services including Assisted Living, Sheltered Care, Memory Care, Intermediate and Skilled Nursing Care, and Respite Care. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the vigilant staff at Chicago Scots and Caledonia were proactive in their approach, which resulted in zero COVID-related fatalities at the community amongst staff and residents.
Golfers and golfing enthusiasts are encouraged to get their tartan on and wear their own kilt or other Scottish inspired clothing – a kilt rental is also available through Chicago Scots. Kilts are optional but always highly encouraged! This year guests can enjoy food stations throughout the day. Games, contests and a bagpipe playing on the course help celebrate the sport described as Scotland’s greatest invention.
Registration for the event is $225 for an Early Birdie Individual, $800 for an Early Birdie Foursome, $400 for a General Individual plus a Hole Sponsor, and $1,000 for a General Foursome plus a Hole Sponsor. Those that register in August can also opt to purchase a golf gear package that includes a Chicago Scots baseball hat and golf shirt. If you cannot attend the tournament, sponsorship is a great way to send well wishes to golfers and support Chicago Scots and Caledonia Senior Living. Refunds are not available two weeks or less out from the tournament. Donations without participation are also welcome.
