NEMPAC's Jazz in the Park

The North End Music & Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) returns to The Rose Kennedy Greenway with the free and open to the public NEMPAC Jazz in the Park Summer Concert Series, Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on July 11, July 18, July 25, August 1, and August 8.

Local, professional Boston-based Jazz Musicians & Ensembles will take the stage in the North End park: 

• July 11 - The Vintage Vocal Quartet is coming to fill your heart with the sweet harmonies of the Swing Era, when jazz music and pop music were one and the same.
• July 18 – Grammy nominated, powerhouse vocalist extraordinaire Debo Ray—having performed on some of the world's biggest stages—will bring  a special show featuring her original music along with choice covers in the R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, and Funk style. Wear your dancing shoes!
• July 25 – Italian saxophonist Marco Pignataro’s Garden of Spirits featuring Sheryl Bailey is a new project reuniting the acclaimed saxophonist with guitar master Sheryl Bailey, bassist Ehud Ettun, and drummer Tyson Jackson for the first time, creating an evening of creative jazz explorations and dynamic interplay.
• August 1 – Boston-based Panamanian singer-songwriter and educator, Gaby Cotter will take the stage with her band the Timba Messengers, blending Latin-American sounds with jazz, blues, pop, and R&B. 
• August 8 – Caio e Jess, led by American vocalist, Jessica Curran and Brazilian guitarist, Caio Afiune, uniquely blends their backgrounds in Jazz, Rock-Pop and Brazilian Music to create genre-bending organic and lush compositions. 

The concert series, presented by NEMPAC, is a collaboration with the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Special Events and the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy with support from this year’s headlining sponsors Canopy Boston Downtown and Rose Town Kitchen & Bar.  All concerts take place in the Greenway adjacent to Canopy Boston Downtown at the corner of Cross Street and Hanover Street near the North End.
