Overcoming the inequities and injustices that result from bias and prejudice - based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, ability - has proven very difficult. This presentation with discussion after will examine what neuroscientists have learned about where, when, and how such biases originate and how that knowledge can help us create better remediations, interventions, and cultures.
David is a developmental neuropsychologist who has taught educational neuroscience and Universal Design for Learning at Harvard's Graduate School of Education for more than 30 years and also helped to found CAST - The Center for Applied Special Technology - a not-for-profit research and development organization focused on improving education by taking advantage of advances in modern learning sciences and innovative learning technologies.
