Paula Peters explains "Stories from the Shells of Native America"

Ms. Peters will explain how the search for the lost treasures of Metacom, following King Phillip's War in 1677, led to the revival of the traditional art of the wampum belt and the connections it made to history and culture.

Paula Peters is the founder of the Native American Creative Agency Smokesygnals. She is an independent scholar and a politically, socially, and culturally active member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. She is a producer of the traveling exhibit "Our Story: 400 Years of Wampanoag History."

L.I.N.K. is a local non-profit Cape Cod organization seeking pathways to understanding and reciprocity between the non-Native community and the Wampanoag Nation. They also teach nonNatives about the true history and culture of the Wampanoag people.

This program is a collaboration between L.I.N.K. and UU Falmouth in an effort to change the current environment of societal injustice and to heal relations.
