This Christmas Season, First Congregational Church in Worcester is spearheading an effort to make a difference in people's lives by relieving medical debt - in fact, we hope to eliminate a half a million dollars in medical debt this Christmas. By partnering with RIP Medical Debt, a non-profit organization which purchases bulk debt bundles for pennies on the dollar, every $1 we raise will eliminate $100 in medical debt for families in Worcester County and throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
We will be seeking to raise $5,000 to eliminate $500,000 in medical debt and there are three ways you can help us reach our goal of $5,000:
1) You can make a secure donation through our fundraising page (https://ripmedicaldebt.org/campaign/first-congregational-church-in-worcester/?).
2) Attend our Christmas of Caring Concert and Sing-A-Long (including Chance Auction) - December 11th from 3pm to 5pm. This afternoon of fun will include a chance to sing along with some of your favorite sacred and secular holiday songs! A free will offering will be collected, raffle tickets will be available for our chance auction with many fine items donated by local people and businesses, and cookies and cocoa will also be available for this festive time together.
3) Attend our Christmas Eve Service - December 24th at 7pm. Join us for our Lesson and Carols Service on Christmas Eve. Our offering collected will benefit this fundraising effort.
This Christmas, we can have a positive impact in the lives of many by helping them overcome such debt. Will you help us care in this way this Christmas?
Time: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
