Harmony Explosion! Show - June 29, 2024 3pm at the Missoula Community Theatre

It's a once-in-a-long-while opportunity to see four top quality a cappella choruses from our area of the country performing together at one venue - right here, in Missoula! A "Harmony Explosion" will erupt on Saturday, June 29th, 3pm at the Missoula Community Theatre Center for the Performing Arts, 200 North Adams, and you're invited to attend. The doors will open at 2pm with entertainment and displays from the four choruses and with wine and beer available for purchase.

Featuring Missoula's Five Valley Chorus, Helena's Xpress Singers, Bozeman's Bridger Mountain Harmony Chorus, and The Coeur d'Alene Chorus, each group will perform separately, and also together with close to 100 voices in all. Participating singers are all members of the international organization, Sweet Adelines. They perform in their respective cities, create shows for the public, and travel to Sweet Adeline musical competitions and workshops.

Missoula's Five Valley Chorus described as a "wonderful family of singing sisters" by member Cindy Morin, has been performing around the Garden City for 53 years, and members - new and not so new -- have grown musically and personally as individuals and as a chorus. Five Valley members have traveled many places in the United States and Canada, attending competitions and making friends from all over the world. "Our greatest moments come from sharing our music and bringing joy to so many audiences in our community", according to Morin.

The Helena Xpress Singers just celebrated 50 years of entertaining around the Capital City and beyond. Currently 40 members strong, the chorus produces a show each spring and a Christmas show each

December, featuring not only the Chorus, but also the youth of the Helena community. Future plans include a Youth Music Festival, September 28th, in Helena.

Bozeman's Bridger Mountain Harmony Chorus is "on the move", just recently going through a re-building phase, and winning a prize from Sweet Adelines for the greatest percentage of growth in the Northwest Region. Members of Bridger Mountain enjoy performing during holidays like Christmas and Valentine's Day, at retirement homes, local Bozeman restaurants and art walks.

Idaho's Coeur d' Alene Chorus is a dedicated and fun group of singers, ranging in ages from 15 to 86! Yearly activities include: an annual Winter Retreat, a camping weekend in the late summer, a holiday show, performing as the Victorian Carolers at the Coeur d' Alene Resort, and singing for various other community events. Members are excited to travel to Missoula for the special Harmony Explosion show.

Celebrity emcee, Mark Heyka, Chief Meteorologist for ABC Montana and Non-Stop-Local, will be on hand to introduce the various acts at the show.

Also featured will be the Shirley Tempos, a vocal ensemble from Frenchtown High School.

Cost to attend is $20 each ($17 for seniors 65 and older and for students). Children age 10 and under get in free. Seating is limited, so get your tickets in advance on line at HarmonyExplosion2024.bpt.me. If not sold out prior to the show, tickets may be available at the door.

Profits from the show will go to Missoula's YWCA.
