NYS Tree Climbing Championship

Washington Park, Albany: Bring a lawn chair to watch the amazing professional Arborists from all over the state compete at this free spectator event in Washington Park in Albany on Saturday, June 22nd (rain date is the 23rd). This competition will determine the climber that will represent New York State in the national championship in Atlanta, Georgia this fall. You'll be amazed by their skill and daring!

Washington Park is an awesome site for the championship for its beauty, space, and mature trees. Competition spectators will also enjoy activities like touch-a-truck, the Tree I.D. Challenge, a scavenger hunt, limb walk, and more. Stop at the New York ReLeaf table to pick up a competition program, visit with local conservation groups, and learn more about trees. Food trucks will be available at the park for buying your picnic in the park.
