Nickel City Opera presents Verdi's 'Rigoletto'

Join Nickel City Opera for a full staged production of Giuseppe Verdi's 'Rigoletto' including full set, costumes and orchestra at Nichols Flickinger Performing Arts Center. An opera in three acts with Italian libretto based on a 1832 play by Victor Hugo. The tragic story revolves around the licentious Duke of Mantua, his hunch-backed court jester Rigoletto and Rigoletto's daughter Gilda. The opera's original title, La Maledizione (The Curse), refers to a curse placed on both the Duke and Rigoletto by a courtier whose daughter the Duke has seduced with Rigoletto's encouragement. The curse comes to fruition when Gilda falls in love with the Duke. Tragic mayhem ensues. Directed by Giorgio LaLov of Teatro Lirico D'Europa. Tickets available at the BPO Box Office.
