Support Morris-Jumel Mansion while immersing yourself in an interactive fundraiser! This year’s annual summer fundraiser will feature:

  • DIY ice cream making workshop, highlighting the history of ice cream, George Washington's favorite dessert
  • Signature rum & rye cocktails by Hercules Mulligan and Fever-Tree
  • Talk on rum & rye's ties to George Washington and the American Revolution
  • Guided tour of our latest exhibition, At Ease: Photographs by Military Veterans in New York, featuring collection items and memorabilia from the American Revolution.
  • Raffle items!

The evening commemorates the dinner that George Washington hosted at the Mansion on July 10 of 1790 for the men who would later form the first cabinet of the United States: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and Henry Knox. This annual fundraiser helps provide support for the many free programs the organization offers the community throughout the year.

Please bring a picnic blanket to enjoy your cocktails and ice cream on the lawn! This event is for adults only (21+), will be hosted outdoors, and in the event of inclement weather, will be rescheduled to Thursday, July 14.

The event has been generously co-sponsored by:

  • Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye: Named for the little known tailor, spy, and hero of the American Revolution, who changed history and secured freedom for all, Hercules Mulligan is based on a unique recipe from the period. It’s what Mulligan, the man, stood for, and it’s what this Rum & Rye blend embodies. A spirit of independence.
  • Fever-Tree: A leader in artisanal sodas - if 3/4 of your drink is the mixer, mix with the best!
  • Caswell-Massey: America's original Soap and Fragrance Company with historic, bespoke formulations enjoyed for 300 years.
