Women of color fare worse than white women in every major health indicator, from maternal mortality rates to the incidence of cervical cancer. The poor health outcomes for women of color don't just reveal bad policy, they are evidence that the U.S. is failing to provide equal access--and treatment--to all. By increasing awareness and the minority presence within the healthcare field, and ensuring women of color have the voice and agency they deserve in their own health, we can help narrow the gap.

We're thrilled to announce our speakers for the event:

Dr. Cherise Hamblin, founder and president of Patients R Waiting, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating health disparities by increasing the pipeline of minority clinicians and supporting those already in practice. She is a full-time board certified OBGYN and enjoys doing surgery, delivering babies, and caring for women of all ages.

Rae Johnson-Bundy, certified Doula Trainer and Mentor, Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Evidenced Based Birth Instructor and a Certified Birth Doula (CD) DONA at Doula Right Thing. As a Birth and Postpartum Doula Trainer for National Black Doula Associates (NBDA), Black Childbirth Educator and Doula she supports and brings awareness to the much needed maternal health care People of Color are facing today.

Madhumitha Rajakittu Pudupatti, Certified Birth Doula at Doula Right Thing and National Black Doula Associates (NBDA). As a Woman of Color, immigrant navigating in a different culture, birth professional, and mother herself, she has experienced and witnessed situations not completely respectful to the birthing person. She strives to support birthing people from the experience of a Person of Color, and through her program strives to reach Communities of Color, bring awareness to Maternal Health, and represent POC during pregnancy and bring in the respect they deserve for their values, beliefs, and choices.

Samantha Boblia, Chief External Affairs Officer for Planned Parenthood Keystone. She is deeply and personally invested in race equity work and cross-movement building and sees her role at PPKeystone as a conduit to advance equity. She co-chairs a community-centric fundraising committee at PP, which advances racial justice in affiliate fundraising initiatives. Bobila maintains membership in the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy, and Professional Filipino American Youth.

All are welcome to attend and hear from this incredible panel of speakers. Please use the Vine St entrance to the Southern Market. We hope to see you there!
