Jay’s Jazz invites you to join us at the Texas Music Museum on July 5 at 1:00 PM for an inspiring performance and presentation celebrating East Austin's African American musicians. This special event will pay tribute to the invaluable contributions of nationally renowned musicians from East Austin, who have been instrumental in shaping Austin's reputation as the Live Music Capital of the World.
The event will feature a soulful performance by Jays Jazz, showcasing songs performed by or written by legendary East Austin artists such as Damita Jo DeBlanc, W. C. Clark, Dr. Hepcat, Teddy Wilson, Pee Wee Crayton, and Kenny Dorham. These musicians have left an indelible mark on the music industry and continue to inspire future generations.
Don't miss this opportunity to honor the rich musical heritage of East Austin and enjoy an afternoon of exceptional live music. Special performance by Pamela Hart.
This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department via the Nexus Grant
