Lyles Memorial Remembers Eula Mae Stubberfield Lyles, Jezell Lyles...

Followering a two-year absence, The Lyles Memorial will return on Saturday, June 11, 2022 on the Lyles property in the Neches area of Palestine, Texas. The Lyles Memorial started in 2001 after the death of Roy Lyles and it will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mrs Elzie V. Ly.es passed in 1992.

Children Emma, Carolyn, Marine, Donald, Zett, Marvin and Barbara work as a unit to put the Memorial. Brother Joe died in 2016.

This year's Memorial pays tribute to Joe  and his wife, Eula  Mae Stubberfield Lyles (who passed in 2021)Jezell Junior Boy" Lyles (who passed in 2020); Lois Burnett (who passed in 2017) a lifelong friend-classmate of Barbara Ann Robertson. Regular Memorial attendee Eddie Fay Price passed away in 2021.

Beauty Shop Owner- cosmetologist Sharon Ann Anderson, a classmate of Carolyn Lyles, has attended all the memorial as have retired Dallas, Texas, detective Wilford Suber.

In 2016 then Palestine City Council person Vernon Denmon as well as the aunt (his mother's sister) and uncle of former famed Minnissota Vikings-Palestine native running back Adrian Peterson. Peterson's annual parade in Palestine oranger Carol Pegues said the parade will return soon. Pegues has attended several Of the Memorials. Another attendee was Vicki Barrett Castleberry, a Texas Hall of Fame basketball player. A retired teacher she still hold several Texas women's basketball records.
