The Rocky Mountain Veterans Center (RMVC) in partnership with Thermo-Fisher Scientific have partnered to host an Open House to commemorate Veterans Day, Monday November 11, 2024 to honor those who have served and their families for their sacrifices. In 2020, there were
over 110,000 Veterans living in Utah (about 3 % of the state’s population). Nationally, less than 1% of the U.S. population has served in the military.
Utah’s Veteran population is significantly older than the general population. Nearly a third of Utah Veterans served in the Vietnam Era (August 1964 to April 1975).

Research completed by the PEW Research Institute revealed that most Americans in the post-9/11 era have feelings of pride and gratitude about Veterans and the Armed Forces. At the same time, most Americans acknowledge they know little about the realities of military service or the problems faced by those in the military or their sacrifices. Most Americans are also glad people are willing to serve in the military but would discourage family members from enlisting.

The Open House will be held at the RMVC located at 1760 N. 200 E. Suite 100, North Logan, UT. Come enjoy hot dogs, brats, drinks, with all the trimmings. "Music by Marlys" will provide the entertainment. Several RMVC partners will be available to answer questions on Veterans
home health care, housing, and employment opportunities.

The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs and the Bear River Association of Governments will have Veterans Service
Officers available on-site all-day to assist Veterans in filing benefit claims and answering questions regarding benefits.

The RMVC, Thermo-Fisher Scientific, and our partners are committed to honoring Veterans and ensuring the welfare of Veterans, their families, and communities. We encourage all to attend to commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who have served.
