Serenity Day

SFES was founded in 2016 after Bill and Rhondavena LaPorte accidently began saving horses. 20-30 volunteers work together to care for 33 beautiful equine. Most came here sick, injured, traumatized. Many will live here for life. Some stabilize and are adopted. Adoption is a best-case scenario but often not possible. due to past trauma or on-going need for medical treatment. ALL our equine are friendly and love interacting with people and do heal emotionally and medically to some level.
We have many breeds, and some are very rare. An American Curly lives here and a Cleveland Bay who was born in England. We have big horses and little horses, ponies and donkeys and a mule. All deserve a 2nd chance.
We are 100% volunteer. SFES runs on donations but when donations are low, Bill and Rhondavena cover the costs and eat lots of pasta. Many of our volunteer's sponsor horses and contribute to their well-being. All volunteers can pick an equine partner and spend time with them. Visitors are welcome by appointment. We try to always save time to show them around.
On Oct 19th, 11am to 3pm. We will have food, games, art, goats, donkeys, raffles, a silent auction and a tack sale. We desperately need to raise funds. Please consider coming and support our efforts to help horses and save those that we can.
