Bach by Candlelight

Candlelight concerts are hot tickets these days. But before they became widely popular, the Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia presented this concept seventeen years ago with "Bach by Candlelight," one of the most memorable events from our past 20 years. This year, violinist and 2024 MacArthur "Genius Award" recipient Johnny Gandelsman joins cellist and CMSCVA Artistic Director James Wilson to perform elegant and emotional music for unaccompanied strings by Johann Sebastian Bach. Bathed in candlelight, this is an intimate recital of Baroque music perfect for a winter's night.
