Based on the L. Frank Baum classic, The Wizard of Oz is the tale of a Kansas farm girl named Dorothy who is swept away with her dog Toto in a cyclone to the Land of Oz. There, upon her arrival, she is informed by Glinda, the Good Witch of the East, that she cannot return home until she destroys The Wicked Witch of the West. Glinda instructs her to "follow the yellow brick road" to the Emerald City where she can ask the great and powerful Wizard of Oz for his help. Along the way, Dorothy bands together with a scarecrow, tin woodsman and a cowardly lion who each decide to accompany her so that they, too, might ask The Wizard for help with their own problems. Together, as they fend off attacks by the evil Wicked Witch throughout their journey and ultimately discover the truth about the supposedly all-powerful Wizard of Oz, the foursome learns many lessons about their own resourcefulness and resilience. For fans of the film or stage versions of Wicked, this show tells the story of what happens next. All performances at Magnuson Park Theater between Friday, November 22nd and Saturday, December 21st. Great for children ages 3 to 103.
