Walk to End Alzheimer's - Fond du Lac County

This annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s - Fond du Lac County has raised hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars for care, support and research. While there is no fee for Walking, participants are encouraged to raise critical funds before and after Walk Day that are needed to fight Alzheimer’s. This inspiring event starts at 8:30am with breakfast snacks, kids’ activities, music, greetings from local mascots, and photo-taking. The opening ceremony takes place at 9:45am and calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against Alzheimer’s and other dementia. The 2-mile Walk begins at 10:00am and leads all Walkers toward a day without Alzheimer’s. The finish line brings heartwarming cheers, root beer floats, and camaraderie among folks sharing the unfortunate bond of having a loved one or friend affected by this disease. COVID-19 concerns these past 2-years have greatly diminished Walk Day participation and fundraising. So, the Walk is in desperate need of more folks joining this year with those who share this common (yet somehow comforting) bond. It IS great therapy and a heartwarming experience you’ll want to share every year! This outdoor event will use COVID-19 safety protocols including physical distancing, masks (required for indoor restroom use), contact-less interactions, and hand sanitizing stations.
